Megastar Sharon Cuneta opened up about her weight loss journey during her guesting on “KC After Hours,” the vlog of ANC news anchor Karmina Constantino.
The veteran singer-actress addressed rumors that she used Ozempic, a diabetes medication that has become widely used as a weight loss drug.
“I never went on Ozempic. I tried another medication once. I could not handle it,” Sharon clarified.
Instead of avoiding the topic, Sharon candidly revealed her heart condition and her maintenance medication since 2003. She emphasized that her two cardiologists can attest that she cannot just take any medication without clearance.
The Megastar detailed her struggles with weight, saying it began when she turned 50 in 2016. Losing weight has been a long-time goal, but it was never easy.
She admitted trying almost every crash diet, but real change happened when she disciplined herself to reduce food intake, especially carbs, bread, and dairy products, which she loved despite not being a heavy rice eater.
Throughout her weight loss journey, Sharon shared that her husband, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, has been very supportive.
Sharon’s honesty about her health continues to inspire fans who admire her dedication to improving herself the healthy way.
